Make a Donation

We are pleased to introduce the Light Up Organization (LUO) Strategic Program (2025–2030), dedicated to advancing clean energy adoption, promoting inclusive social and economic development, and empowering women, youth, and persons with disabilities across Morogoro, Tanzania.

Your contribution — no matter the amount — will directly support the implementation of four impactful community-centered programs:

Why Your Support Matters

1. Promotion of Clean Energy Practices

Many households still rely on charcoal and firewood, contributing to environmental damage and health risks. Your support will help us:

  • Conduct awareness training for community members and local leaders.

  • Establish Community Demonstration Centers for learning clean cooking technologies.

  • Develop a network of trained community facilitators across all wards.

2. Community-Based Day Care Centers for Low-Income Women

Women engaged in small-scale businesses often struggle with childcare, limiting their productivity. Your donation will support:

  • Strengthening 20 women's groups (approximately 200 women).

  • Training mothers on recommended childcare and early childhood development practices.

  • Establishing 20 affordable and accessible community day care centers.

3. Inclusive Reproductive Health Information for Women with Hearing Impairment.

Women with hearing disabilities often lack access to essential maternal health information. Your contribution will enable us to:

  • Identify women of reproductive age with hearing impairments in the municipality.

  • Translate key maternal and reproductive health information into sign language.

  • Train frontline health workers in basic sign language for effective communication.

4. Empowerment of Plastic Waste Collectors (“Environmental Heroes”).

These individuals play a key role in environmental conservation but often work in poor conditions and face stigma. Your support will help us:

  • Organize plastic collectors into legally recognized cooperatives.

  • Provide training in safe waste collection practices and financial literacy.

  • Facilitate linkages with recycling companies to improve income opportunities.

Expected Impact

By contributing, you are helping to:

  • Increase household adoption of clean and healthy energy solutions.

  • Strengthen economic stability for low-income women and their families.

  • Increase reproductive health access and dignity for women with hearing impairment.

  • Ensure safer working environments and better livelihoods for plastic waste collectors.
